THE MAJOR MAYOR PROJECT

PYGOYA:

"WEBISTS PLAY TOGETHER ON FUN NEW PROJECTS THAT BRING NEW ART ONLINE AS WELL AS SEND WORKS BACK DOWN TO THE PLANET. SO BEING A WEBIST IS CONTRIBUTING WHAT ARTISTS DO TO THE CULTURAL CLIMATE OF THEIR COMMUNITY,,,."

After having read this text from Pygoya I knew we should go for a new high level project which came to my mind walking my favorite 1.5 hr roundtrip through the Bavarian mountains.

When I was on tour with Pygoya and Bernard Dumaine last year in November we were invited by the mayor of my hometown Sonthofen to visit him in the townhall. Pygoya, Bernard and I were honored with the Sonthofen pin and we had a nice visit to the local history museum where we also had a typical "Oberallgäuer" dinner and the famos "Hefeweizen" of course. How this???

Because I went to the mayor's office quite some time before Pygoya's and Bernards visit and told him and his staff about the global artists' community and how we work together for peace and freedom worldwide and use our art. They gave me a townhall solo exhibition. This worked for me and it will work for you too. Go to your townhall office no matter if you are living in a small, medium or large town! They are proud of you as their citizen. You are an ambassador for your town. They surely will give you an exhibition in your townhall and your local newsparers will report about it and your mayor will come to shake your hand.

When I stayed in Angouleme, Bernard's hometown, where we had a nice exhibition in August 2003 organized by Bernard, we went to his mayor too. He was very friendly and open and even visited our exhibition and he wrote to the mayor of my hometown to ask for cultural exchange. This all works easily if you bring it over with some enthusiasm. You do a great job for free for your town and they will give you something in return. It's global culture and officials love to use you and your art for their purposes. You make them shine.

Here are some informative links to our meetings with Sonthofen and Angouléme mayors and to press articles deriving from this events:
